Bud’s Lamb Custom Cut & Wrap Fee: $88
Cost Per Meal
Purchasing a whole lamb offers excellent value while allowing you to stock your freezer with premium 100% grass-fed and grass-finished lamb. For example, a 50-pound hanging lamb will typically yield about 37.5 pounds of take-home meat after processing (approximately a 75% yield). Including the custom cut and wrap fee, your total investment is approximately $580–$588, depending on the butcher you choose. That works out to about $15.45–$15.67 per pound of finished meat, or approximately $7.75 per meal based on a ½-pound serving.
Please note the final costs will vary slightly from animal to animal based on the hanging weight.
